Tunde Onakoya continue to ride in the realms of champion after playing chess for 60 hours in New York City’s Times Square to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon.
Despite initially wanting to play for r 58 hours, he weathered the storm until he reached 60 hours at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday, breaking chess marathon record of 56 hours, 9 minutes and 37 seconds set by by Norwegians Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad in 2018. As an advocate of child education, the 29yr old, is looking to raise $1-million for children’s education across Africa through chess.
His achievement has earned him massive support across the globe, despite guiness book of record yet to confirm the record.
