The ongoing crisis between Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and the Kaduna state house of assembly on corruption allegations took a new twist on Wednesday as El-rufai sued the Kaduna State House of Assembly on wrong allegations.

The Patroitng, reports that the former Governor, in company of his attorney, Abdulhakeem Uthman Mustapha SAN, arrived the federal High Court on Wednesday morning in Kaduna to filed a fundamental rights suit against the House of assembly over claims of abducting ₦432bn, that has left the state in huge debts.

Abdulhakeem Mustapha SAN, petitioned  the claims by the Kaduna Assembly Committee which had indicted El-Rufai for embezzlement, calling on the court to declare the report of the Assembly probe as null and void, claiming the charges didn’t follow due process as his client was not given the opportunity of fair hearing over the allegations levelled against him and his administration by the committee.

Barr. Sule Shuaib, the state attorney general, joined the Kaduna State House of Assembly as respondents in the suits against the former Governor.

The state Assembly had earlier set up an ad hoc committee to probe the El-Rufai-led administration following the state governor’s claims that he inherited an empty treasury that was preventing him from meeting key development and salary obligations.
