Pakistani peacekeepers known as MONUSCO sealed it Kamanyola base in eastern DRC according to head of the UN Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo who attended the ceremony.
After a memorandum between DRC (Congo) government and MONUSCO on 21 November 2023 of the note on the accelerated, gradual, orderly and responsible withdrawal of MONUSCO,” Bintou Keita special representative of the UN Secretary-General disclosed that Kamanyola is the first MONUSCO base in South Kivu to close.
National police from Congo is responsible for security in the region in the
Kamanyola base located in Ruzizi plain.

Diouf Khar asserted that he has has no limitations in what the forces can achieve.
MONUSCO landed in Congo in 2010, taking over from a U.N. peacekeeping mission to protect civilians and humanitarian personnel and offered support to the Congolese government in its stabilization and peace efforts.
Despite the development, Congolese bemoaned that it receives not support from rebel attacks, leading to protests against U.N.
DR Congo continues to suffer from attacks by different armed groups going close to 120 who are seeking part of the resources while others are protecting their communities.
