U.S Calls on Rwanda to Evacuate forces from DR Congo

United States has said Rwanda continuos support to M23 rebel group in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, has resulted in a backlash from Kigali.

Over the weekend, U.S. State Department undermine the situation, calling on M23 to stop attacks and evacuate from Sake and Goma.

The U.S, opined that Rwanda should remove all military personnel from the DRC including its missile.

The latest developments has seen Kigali instant response, as the ministry of foreign affairs claims the US statement counterfeit what’s really happening and that it has the sole responsibility to defend itself against the DRC’s actions , adding its a threat to Rwandan security.

The capital had also shown worries on the no action of the regional peace processes, noting the international community is indifferent to DRC’s dramatic military build-up.

Deapite the eruption of crisis in eastern DRC which has seen fights between the M23 rebels, army forces and self-defence groups, over one hundred thousands have fleed to Goma as M23 touch down in the city.

South Africa plan to deploy a contingent of 2,900 troops to force deployed by southern African regional bloc SADC, in the bid to assist Congo fight rebel forces.
